Access NFTS is a national outreach programme designed to engage, inform and inspire a wider generation of potential creative talent.
Designed and delivered by the National Film and Television School, Access NFTS wants to encourage more people to follow a career path into our industry. We want to work with both those who are already interested in careers in film, television and games, and help those who haven’t discover a whole world of new career opportunities behind the camera.
We think that a career in the industry can be a reality for all, whatever your background, experience or circumstances. Whether you are a school student, university graduate, or someone looking for a career change, Access NFTS is here to help you discover your options and realise your potential.
Access NFTS also aims to support careers education in schools and colleges by offering events, resources and activities that inform about routes into, and the broad range of careers in, the film, TV, and games industry.
For Secondary Schools: Access NFTS: Discover
The aim of this session is for young people to discover the broad range of careers behind the camera. We do this by touring the NFTS departments, stages, studios and workshops. Tours are led by current students on a variety of career paths, who will also share their journey to where they are now. Finally, we will show some student work to inspire and demonstrate what is possible.

Event times: AM Session 09.30-11.30 | PM Session 12:30-14.30
Maximum capacity: 60 attendees
Group sizes: 15 per school/visiting group (more places may be offered depending on availability)
Venue: NFTS Beaconsfield

- Intro to NFTS /Careers in the industry (20 minutes)
- Tour of NFTS with current students (60 minutes)
- NFTS Film screening (20 minutes)
- Q&A with current NFTS students (10 minutes)
- Summary and evaluation (10 minutes)

For FE Colleges: Access NFTS: Experience
We hope our Experience events help to let students make informed decisions on where to continue building their future career. Designed for students to get an insight into a range of careers paths and roles through a tour of the NFTS facilities, along with attending 4 specific career workshops, led by NFTS students.

Event times: 10.00 – 14.30
Maximum capacity: 60 attendees
Group sizes: 15 per school/visiting group (more places may be offered depending on availability)
Venue: NFTS Beaconsfield
Timetable: Each event will follow the same timetable with workshops in 4 different disciplines taught at the School
- Intro to NFTS (15 minutes)
- Tour of NFTS (30 minutes)
- Workshop 1 (45 minutes)
- Workshop 2 (45 minutes)
- Lunch (30 minutes)
- Workshop 3 (45 minutes)
- Workshop 4 (45 minutes)
- Q&A with current NFTS Students (15 minutes)

For Individuals (14-19): Access NFTS Weekenders

We are thrilled to announce we are combining the Discover and Experience events together and creating Access NFTS: Weekenders for individual sign up.
2 days of workshops, screenings, tours and other activities. Attendees will learn about careers behind the camera, what the roles are, what they involve, how you get into the industry, learn some skills on the way, and hopefully have fun.
