This summer, Aylesbury Youth Action is working in partnership with Florence Nightingale on Stage on their production of ‘The Wiz’ at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre! Volunteering opportunities are available for young people to get involved at AYA. The first project will be the chance to get stuck into the production side of theatre, with painting, creating, and building set and props for the show. Our project worker, Brian, will lead the sessions, listen to your ideas and creatively collaborate with you on how we can bring the Land of Oz to life. Our staging days will be the 25th, 26th and 27th of July. Times are to be confirmed.
The second project is a fantastic work experience opportunity to become a play leader! You will assist the Director, support the creative team and lead games/activities for the cast’s younger members. You will have three two-hour preparation days with Paige at AYA on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of August. Times to be confirmed. During the sessions, you will do a read-through of the show, learn drama games and explore the different sides of working with young people in a theatre environment. You will then work with Amy, the Production Director and her team for two weeks at the Waterside Theatre from the 14th to the 27th of August.
