Dance for Rights – Every Child Every Move

Time: Live national event during the school day
Cost: Free
Location: Your classroom or school hall

Dance for Rights is a joyful national dance event for KS2 pupils, bringing together thousands of children from schools across the UK in a shared live experience inspired by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Led by artists from the Royal Opera House and The Royal Ballet, the event encourages children to explore children’s rights through movement, creativity and participation.

Designed to be simple, inclusive and confidence-building, the choreography is accessible for all pupils regardless of previous dance experience, making it ideal for whole-class participation. The event focuses on expression, teamwork and shared meaning rather than perfection, helping pupils build confidence while feeling part of something bigger alongside schools nationwide.

Dance for Rights also provides an engaging way for teachers to bring the UNCRC to life through creative learning, with minimal preparation required and expert guidance provided throughout. The format has been developed in response to teacher feedback, creating a streamlined experience that fits more easily into the school day while still delivering the excitement of a live national event.
